Al Nunez, D.V.M., C.V.A.

Albert J. Nunez, D.V.M. graduated from Ross University with honors in 1991. He began the practice of veterinary medicine in Ohio where he was employed at a mixed animal clinic. Here he became skilled at healing large, farm animals, herd health maintenance, as well as caring for companion animals. Dr. Nunez relocated to South Florida in 1994 and continued to practice veterinary medicine until the opening of Herndon Veterinary Center in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Nunez created a state-of-the-art veterinary facility and developed a team-oriented approach for the caring of pets. Our staff is comprised of highly dedicated and caring individuals whose main objective is to provide quality care in a family setting. Dr. Nunez treats avian, exotics, reptiles, pocket pets, as well as canines and felines. He is certified in veterinary acupuncture and holds a degree from The Chi Institute of Chinese medicine in Gainesville, Florida. He incorporates Traditional and Western medicine along with Eastern medicine, homeopathy, Herbal medicine, Energy medicine and Acupuncture. In November 2001 Dr. Nunez expanded his practice in the Lake Mary area with the addition of the Animal Hospital of Lake Mary. In July 2006 his practice at Herndon Veterinary Center relocated and is now known as Animal Hospital at Baldwin Park. He continues providing compassionate care and client education. For optimum quality of life, he incorporates natural, spiritual and holistic medicinal approaches and tailors them to your pet's needs. Dr. Nunez is involved in many areas of the greater Orlando community. He conducts educational seminars for various organizations in an effort to educate the general public in the care of pets and the special bond between man and beast. Many schools in the area enlist his services in facilitating career day in order to help promote science in a fun way to our youth. Dr. Nunez is also a contributor in many local publications touching many subjects of interest regarding veterinary medicine, spirituality and the environment. He is a yogi, song writer, author and musician and is committed to teaching the principles of inner peace, the human bond with all life on the planet, outer peace and environmental stewardship through private lessons and seminars, books and music. Beth Carson, D.V.M., C.V.A.

Dr. Carson grew up in New Jersey and moved to south Florida in 1980. She completed her undergraduate education at Florida Atlantic University, receiving a Bachelor's degree in biology; and recieved her Doctorate of Veterinary medicine from the University of Florida. Upon completion of veterinary school, Dr. Carson continued her education by completing an internship in acupuncture at the University of Florida. This internship was started in 2005 at the University of Florida, and is the first American Veterinary Medical Association recognized acupuncture internship in the world. She is proud to be the third student to complete this innovative and renowned program. During the internship program Dr. Carson was guided by the distinguished acupuncture expert Dr. Huisheng Xie. Throughout this time, she treated a wide variety of clinical cases, conducted research, and taught veterinary students at the University of Florida Medical Center. Dr. Carson has had extensive training in all areas of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and is certified in both acupuncture and tui-na (Chinese medical manipulation). She has completed both small animal and equine acupuncture training in basic and advanced therapeutic techniques. She has also completed training in tui-na, food therapy, and Chinese herbal medicine therapies. Dr. Carson teaches these techniques to other veterinarians from all over the country and the world at the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. Dr. Carson enjoys practicing integrative medicine, combining the best of both Western and Eastern medical modalities, to benefit the patient. Her areas of interest include arthritis and chronic pain management in geriatric patients, skin problems, allergies, behavioral issues, as well as cancer therapy. Dr. Carson has lectured both locally and internationally on TCVM techniques, and has published articles on the subject. She is on the advisory committee for the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Her future plans include completing a Masters in TCVM and continuing acupuncture research.



Diana

Hello my name is Diana and I have been working in the veterinary field since 2002. I have always wanted to work with animals since before I can remember. I enjoy helping them in any way possible and am very grateful for the opportunity to work here at the Animal Hospital of Lake Mary. I have one dog and two cats that are very spoiled by both my husband and myself. I look forward to meeting many pet owners and their furry family members while providing the best possible care here at this hospital.





Jaclynn

Hi my name is Jaclynn. I was born in Rhode Island, raised in New Hampshire and moved to Florida at the age of 9. I have been working with animals since I was 17 years old, right after high school. I live in Winter Springs with my boyfriend and 9 animals. I started at the Animal Hospital at Baldwin Park in April 2011 and have learned so much. I love the clients, staff and especially the patients. In my free time I like photography, and long days at the beach.






Katie

Hi my name is Katie. I have lived in Florida all of my life. I have been working at Animal Hospital at Baldwin Park since 2009. I am an ICU technician and supervisor assistant. I love working with animals that is why I am here. I have 3 dogs at home, they are my kids and I love them, I also own a Chameleon and a snake. I always knew that this is the field I wanted to be in. My hobbies are: anything outdoors, spending time with my boyfriend and playing with my puppies.






Kristine

Kristine was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She went to Lake Mary High School where she graduated cum laude in 2001 and went on to pursue her bachelor's degree in biology at UCF. Kristine is the proud owner of three Chihuahuas, Anna, Little Brother, and Maya, as well as a Maine Coon named Samantha, and a Hans Macaw named Nicuru. Kristine started as a part time technician in 2002 at the Animal Hospital of Lake Mary, and has grown with the company. She is now the office manager of the Animal Hospital at Baldwin Park. The best parts of her job are watching the pets grow and develop over time, and forming lasting friendships with her coworkers.



Paula

Paula Ferguson was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Her father was in the air force, and she moved to Spain when she was only two years old. Paula had the unique privilege of being raised in Sevilla and Madrid, Spain, and later Aviano, Italy. Her father's military career brought her back to the United States when she was 13 years old. Paula moved to Orlando and attended UCF and received her bachelor's degree in Journalism. Heeding her love of animals, Paula adopted Kobe and Indy, her sweet Italian Greyhounds. She came to our animal hospital as a client, and joined our staff to love and care for animals in 2006. Paula enjoys watching horror movies and supporting the local metal music scene.



Renee

My name is Renee, I recently transferred to our Baldwin Park office from the Animal Hospital of Lake Mary office I had been working at since 2003. I have a daughter named Michelle, and a granddaughter named Anjoulese. I share a home with my fiance Ken and the kids; Cydney and Conrad. We enjoy watching movies and vacationing. I have had many pets in the past- pheasants, quail, iguanas, squirrels, cats, dogs, ferrets, birds, and fish. You name it! As a result, I really appreciate coming to work every day and witnessing our clinic help so many animals and educate people. I am currently the office manager at the hospital and I work with a wonderful group of people. I have a family here and I feel at home. I love what I do!



Thaira

Hello I'm Thaira. I came from Puerto Rico in 2007. I studied at the Florida Institute of Animal Arts in Florida and love working with animals. Since I was a kid I tried to cure animals with much success I loved it so much I continued my pursuit in that direction. I've had cats, iguana, bird, fish, bunnies and a duck. Now I have Alice the ferret and a toy poodle named Chloe. I started at the Animal Hospital at Baldwin Park in September of 2010 and have since completed my externship here. When I'm not at work I enjoy my 2 kids, going to theme parks and I love to roller skate at the park.




Tori

Hi my name is Tori. I recently moved from Maine to Florida. I have been at Animal Hospital at Baldwin Park since January of 2011 as a surgery technician. I love my job and I love working with animals. At home I have a dog named Sam and a cat named Gus, they are my babies. I graduated in 2010 with a degree in Veterinary technology. I am happy to be pursuing my passion every day I come to work. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring Florida's state parks.
